How Hush Uses Privacy Authorization to Remove Your Personal Data

To remove your personal data quickly and securely, several platforms require written privacy authorization. Hush uses a Limited Power of Attorney (LPOA) — built into our Terms of Use — to meet those requirements and act on your behalf.

1. What the Privacy Authorization allows us to do

  • Submit opt-in/opt-out requests to data brokers and people-search sites.

  • Communicate with third parties to process removals.

  • Take action based on search results, including filing takedown requests.

This allows us to move efficiently when brokers require formal proof of representation.

2. How long it lasts & how you stay in control

  • The Privacy Authorization remains active while your membership is active.

  • It automatically ends when your membership ends.

  • You can revoke it at any time by emailing hello@gohush.com — we will address it promptly.

3. What you will see

We notify you of meaningful findings and actions. The Privacy Authorization (LPOA) does not require detailed reporting of every request, allowing us to move quickly while keeping you informed of the updates that matter most.

4. Security you can trust

We maintain strict internal controls to verify all actions taken under the Privacy Authorization are authorized and secure. Additional details are available in our Trust Center.

A group of large data brokers have recently slowed or complicated removals due to evolving privacy laws. While most remain cooperative, some now require additional verification or extended processing timelines.
